Well, for the first blog after the Christmas break when so much packaging around the world has been devoured and disposed of, it seems apt to share an update on the packaging sector for digital printing. InPrint 2017: Industrial Print Moves onto Another Level

The third edition of InPrint in Germany was held from 14 – 16 November 2017, at the Munich Trade Fair Centre. The exhibition was, once again, able to attract some 3,000 high-profile industry professionals, including inventors and integrators as well as printing and production specialists from various industry sectors. A comprehensive conference program provided insight into the latest developments and market potential of this emerging industry sector. In an official awards ceremony, prizes for innovative product developments and outstanding partnerships were awarded to four exhibiting companies. The organizers, as well as the large majority of the 153 exhibitors, were highly satisfied with the outcome of the show.

Well-designed packaging aims to stand out on the shelves, to better target customers, and ultimately to generate more sales. The demand for digital printing systems is clearly on the rise in the packaging industry. The advantages they bring and availability of specific inks for various digital printing applications answer the need for shorter and more targeted print runs. Moreover, the ability to print directly on objects offers potential additional value as it allows for personalization or mass customization and can even add traceability of products and their packaging.
